CAROL TAYLOR following my heart into May…Sitting around me in my studio are clay sections of a sculpture for a NBM group show in May of this year, organized by the TTT art committee. While I wait for the clay to “set up” so I can work on it again, that is, to become leather hard, or dry or fired I have been painting. I decided I enjoyed doing the landscapes I've worked on ( in the past few spring and fall seasons) at my brother, Jim Watters', and his wife Pat's camp outside Sussex. This is the forest world I grew up in . Out of chaos new life emerges, a theme carried from the Garden Series of clay archways in 2001. The new series of acrylics is called, The Wild Secret Places … which are of two groups. The first is rather romantic, retro painting (that is how I started in 1975) woodland /forest floor scenes, the other set is rather serigraph- like, areas of colour with brush drawn realism in a small 8x8” size. AND of course there is assorted bowls, pitchers and mugs in my clay studio.
